Spectrum Institute of Science and Technology (SIST) recently had the distinct honor of hosting the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Andrew Patrick. This momentous visit underscores the strong educational ties between the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka, highlighting our ongoing commitment to delivering world-class UK higher education directly to Sri Lankan students.
During the official visit at our Colombo campus, the High Commissioner engaged with our faculty and students. The visit featured a comprehensive tour of our four state-of-the-art laboratories, which are dedicated to the teachings of Molecular Biology, Tissue Culture, Biochemistry, and Microbiology.
Discussions throughout the day centered on SIST’s proud standing as a collaborative partner of Edinburgh Napier University, UK. This vital affiliation allows students in Sri Lanka and South Asia to earn globally respected, UGC-recognized UK Honours degrees right here in the commercial capital.
This engagement provided an excellent platform to showcase the academic rigor, hands-on industrial training, and international standards upheld at our institute. We are deeply grateful to the British High Commission for their continued support of transnational education and look forward to further strengthening our UK academic collaborations to empower the next generation of scientific innovators.
