
Spectrum Campus recently hosted a vibrant Sinhala and Tamil New Year (Auvrudu) celebration on April 25th, 2025, at the Saranankara Grounds. Starting at 8:30 A.M., the event offered a rich tapestry of cultural experiences, meticulously organized by the EBH2027 Second Year Undergraduates.
Attendees, dressed in traditional attire, eagerly participated in a diverse program. The grounds buzzed with energy during traditional games offering a nostalgic glimpse into New Year heritage. A major highlight was the Auvrudu Kumara and Kumari competition, where participants showcased their elegance and knowledge of traditions, adding glamour to the event.
The cultural performances captivated the audience with mesmerizing singing and dancing, reflecting Sri Lanka’s rich heritage. The event was graced by Chief Guest, Mr. Shamitha Hettige, Director of Natya Kala Vidyalaya, Pondicherry & Colombo, whose presence underscored the importance of cultural preservation.
