Overview
The Postgraduate Diploma in Data Science is expertly designed by practicing data scientists with experience in major international firms, adhering to the Edison European Data Science Framework. This comprehensive program, credit-rated at the postgraduate level with 60 ECTS credits, covers essential skills like R and Python programming, data management, statistics, predictive analytics, machine learning, and text mining.
The course comprises ten modules, including Exploratory Data Analysis, Statistical Inference, Predictive Modelling, and Machine Learning, delivered through a structured online platform with self-paced learning and tutor support. Modules cover core skills and advanced techniques, including time series analysis, unsupervised methods, and natural language processing. Graduates gain practical experience through project work and develop a solid foundation for careers in data science or further study.
Holders of the Professional Certificate in Data Science can transfer up to 20 ECTS credits to this diploma. The program is open to graduates with a numerate background and is accredited by Woolf, a globally recognized institution. Graduates who have successfully completed a 3-year general degree in Applied Microbiology or Biotechnology or biological science related disciplines now have the opportunity to complete the Hons. Year offered by Edinburgh Napier a Prestigious University in UK to be completed in Sri Lanka in collaboration with Spectrum Institute of Science & Technology.

Minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent in any discipline or minimum 2 years’ experience in technical and/or managerial roles
